Technology Training & Development CoursesTraining Rationale:Developing technologies challenge school administrators and teachers to be cognizant of the possibilities available to students through their use. Employed effectively, these technologies greatly enhance both student achievement and teacher instruction. The newer technologies support learning communities in which teachers and students encounter ideas in a collaborative environment where all become learners. Training Programs:The Technology Department of the Green Brook Township Public School District has developed a series of training workshops for teachers. The purpose of these training opportunities is to further infuse technology into the curriculum and offer teachers opportunities to access the most innovative technologies for use in the classroom. Direct instruction regarding each technology will be provided for the teacher to integrate their use in the curriculum. Teachers who demonstrate both an interest in the use of technology in the classroom and a willingness to share their expertise, will be invited to act as technology Coaches. It is envisaged that three coaches will be sought. Discussions are taking place regarding the payment of a stipend to successful candidates. Expectations of Technology Coaches:
- Align technology use with current curriculum.
- Develop learning outcomes for presentation and technology workshops.
- Conduct presentations and workshops to classroom teachers on utility and use of:
- Blogs
- Podcasts
- Video Conferencing
- SMART Boards
- Tablet PCs
- Webinars
- Student Response systems [eg Clickers]
